I don’t have my true love story yet, but I remember one time asking my parents when they fell in love. My father was actually in Italy on business when he met my mother. He didn’t know too much Italian, but they hit it off right away and all his free time there was spent with her showing him all the local spots in her city. He said on the plane ride home he knew that he would never find another woman like her again. I asked him once what she did that made her so different and he said “Son, its not an action, it’s a feeling”. When he got back home, he started to work on teaching himself Italian and as soon as he had vacation time from work went back to the city to find her and hope she was still single, and she was. A week turned into six months and a job transfer before she decided she wanted to come back with him to America. I haven’t met the love of my life yet, but when I do ill remember what my father told me that day and to make sure I have that feeling.
We met when we were in high school. While in high school, we talked every day. We also wrote notes to each other. I know that is dating when this started. This is before everyone had cell phones. When we were in college, we broke up for a while. Each of us checking out our other options. I heard through friends that he transferred to another school. This left me feeling a little sad and discontented, but I was dating someone else at the time. On a Saturday afternoon, I went with friends to tailgate before a football game. While hanging out, I suddenly saw someone walking towards me. My heart started to race as it was him. He walked over, and we hugged. He ended up hanging out with me and my friends the rest of that day. At the end of the day, I decided I had to end it with the guy that I was dating. In the next few weeks, we started talking on the phone often. We took things slowly because I think we did not want to mess it up. Now, we have been married for 10 years.
I was at a college party of a close friend of mine. As I was walking around, you came up to me and said something which I do not remember. I answered in a sarcastic manner which you seemed to enjoy. I walked away, and went to play a drinking game. You came over and jumped over a seat to sit down. I thought that was how our story was going to start. However, you took my number, but did not call. A few weeks later, I was with the friend that knew you. I told her that you had not called. With some liquid courage, I called you and you answered. You finally asked me on a date, and we have been together ever since.
